Sebring Highlands Little Theatre is proud to announce a new partnership with Alan Jay Automotive Network as an annual sponsor of the show we enter into the yearly Florida Theatre Conference Community Theatre Festival competition. Recognized as an award winning auto group, Alan Jay Automotive Network is celebrating their 27thanniversary in 2019, and owns and manages 16 locations and 15 unique new automobile manufacturers.
For 27 years, Mr. Wildstein has pledged to be a premier partner in the community. Annually, the network contributes to hundreds of events, organizations, fundraisers and individuals, with particular emphasis on event and organizations helping children of all ages.
Alan Jay Auto’s most recent show sponsorship was “Mary Poppins” in August 2018. “Alan Jay Wildstein has long been a supporter of our endeavors. To have him take this next step with us is gratifying,” said Vanessa Logsdon, Theatre Manager. “The sponsorship gives us the foundation for planning each year’s presentation, and will greatly help with all of the expenses related to not only the production, but also taking that show on the road to present it.”
The Florida Theatre Conference Community Theatre Festival will be held in Winter Haven at Theatre Winter Haven August 9-11. Four theatres from around the state will compete for the opportunity to represent Florida at the regional Southeastern Theatre Conference in 2020. All of the plays will be presented Sunday August 11 beginning at noon. Each full length play has been cut to a one hour or less performance. The presentations will include setting up, performing, breaking down, and the notes from the adjudicators to the production team. The advancing play or plays will be announced that evening. The performances are open to the public. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door at Theatre Winter Haven, 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd, Winter Haven, FL 33880. Productions may not be suitable for young children.
Highlands Little Theatre will present “Dancing at Lughnasa” an Irish memory play which was just previewed at HLT July 26-28. “This is a great way to see several performances of high quality theatre in one day. I hope that our HLT friends take advantage of this opportunity to not only support us but to also be a part of our history as we embark into this new territory, “said Ms. Logsdon.
